I bought this rug with a very specific job in mind: parking it in front of my kitchen sink. The pile is plush enough to absorb stray splashes without feeling soggy underfoot, which makes long stretches at the sink noticeably more comfortable. The non-slip backing actually works. It stays put on my floors without creeping or bunching, which is critical in a kitchen where footing matters. Aesthetically, it pulls its weight too. The rich brown tone and subtle raised pattern blend seamlessly with my dark wood floors, which is exactly what I wanted (noticeable only when you step on it). It also appears well-constructed, with clean edges and a dense feel that suggests it will hold up over time. If anything changes after extended use or washing, I’ll update, but first impressions are strong. A practical, good-looking solution for a high-traffic, high-splash zone, even though this is advertised as a doormat.

Overall, I like this mat. It’s made well and has a rubber backing that keeps it from sliding. The design is decorative and the material is soft. So soft that it can double as an inside throw rug. We prefer not to wear everyday shoes in certain rooms like bedrooms and bedroom baths, so having this carpet at those room doorways works fine. The carpet/mat works well at interior doorways from sunrooms/patios as well as by any other exterior doorway.. AND, it’s easy to clean. Very nice.
