Item arrived new and honestly smelt relatively decent upon opening. Box comes with a warranty of guarantee which I’ve never seen on any type of bedding before so that’s pretty nifty. The color is a super bright white plaid, so keep a spot remover pen handy. I got this for my kiddo but the pillows case is super soft that I’m thinking of keeping for myself. Lol
