Cypress: Italian Cupressus sempervirens Growth Habit: Slim tall columnar evergreen tree. Foliage: Dark green. Mature Height: 20-25 feet Mature Width: 22-25 inches. Spacing: 2 feet privacy to 4 feet with a break. Growth Rate: Moderate to fast. Sun Exposure: Full sun to part sun. Soil Conditions: Prefers well-drained part sandy soil. Tolerances: Drought once well established & high levels of pollution and salt spray. Pruning/Trimming: Trimmed to the desired height and/or sheared in the fall, but not necessary. Fertilizer: Suggest a well-balanced fertilizer like a 10-10-10 or 13-13-13. Feed in spring and fall. Uses: Decorative accent running along drive or walkways, framing up windows or entrances and for tight areas to fill. Moisture: Regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. The first year of growth requires watering at least once per day. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly.
