We got this for the bottom of our stairs to keep our 1 year old from climbing up them. We wanted something that would be easy enough for our 5 year old twins to open. design flaw

Gate lock hardware has a design flaw. The safety button catches and sticks. I had to take the lock piece apart and sand a better angle on the piece that is catching. Once I did this the lock works perfectly. Other than this the gate works great and is sturdy.
