This is a beautiful all in one water coloring kit with 36 dazzling color options, two unique water pens/brushes, a color mixing plate, and a color reference guide to show how each color will look when diluted with water and put on paper. It's compact and easy to carry, the colors are very high end and varied, and having the control of the water being in the pen applicators is extremely convenient and ingenious. I've tried watercoloring before, but only with the small eight color Crayola type watercolor set made mostly for children. Then I caught onto watercolor pencils, where I could have control in drawing and coloring in an image I wanted, and then you add the water to soften it and have it become truly watercolor on the slightly bumpy watercolor paper. I really like that because of the control of pencils, but this set's pens are a great middle ground between freestyle with brushes (not my strong suit) and the more controllable but less vibrant or expressive pencils. I love just looking at this set of colors. They are all so rich and beautiful - I would highly recommend this watercolor kit!

I love watercolor painting and while I have a bigger set this is definitely a perfect set for beginners. It has a range of colors that you can easily mix and they work so well for that flow kind of look. I like the pens quite a bit since they make it easier to control the water and vibrancy and overall it's a really compact and nice palette.
