Remarkable low GI for Diabetics

I wouldn't have this every day, I feel it's still a treat, but once or twice a week is ok as part of a balanced diet. The low GI index of 41 is remarkable. I have heard you can lower it further by refrigerating or freezing the cooked rice but there is no reliable way to measure that. I just do that as a bonus. You know, just in case. This cooks the same as regular rice, and has the same texture and taste. If I had a bowl of regular side by side with this, I would not be able to tell the difference. And it's amazing to have it again. It does need washing, it takes me 4-6 times to get most of the cloudiness out, same as regular rice. I make it in my rice maker, and it stores well. Even if you are not diabetic, it's a healthier %26 mostly affordable version that is not over processed junk of some sort. I still love skinny noodles, especially Pappardelle, but only Kaizen rice has been close to scratching the rice itch and it's so expensive. I feel that this adds a lot to my menu. Enjoy!

Fantastic White Rice

I don't eat calrose rice often, but I do enjoy eating it with certain dishes. One of the reasons I don't eat it too often is the impact it has on my glycemic index. I stumbled upon Parish rice and decided to give it a try. Pros: Easy to prepare, good flavor, fluffy texture, much lower glycemic index, higher protein. Cons: More expensive than Calrose, not as sticky. Overall, Parish is a very good substitute for Calrose for most dishes, albeit more expensive. I will be eating rice more often now that I found Parish. It would not be a good substitute for making sushi since it is not sticky enough.

Buy it, you won't be disappointed!

It was recommended to us because my wife is "pre-diabetic". We're ordering more because of that, but more-so because of the quality and taste! I eat it plain, and it tastes great! Also, having more protein helps you feel full and gives you sustained energy. It's also good to support local independent farmers instead of multi-billion dollar corporations who use all kind of chemicals during processing. Buy it, you won't be disappointed!
