Key item features

  • A redeveloped 20.3MP Live MOS Micro Four Thirds sensor pairs with the TruePic VII image processor to enable high-resolution stills shooting and Full HD video recording, along with a wide dynamic range, smooth color and tonal rendering, and a notable sensitivity range from ISO 200-25600 for working in a variety of lighting conditions
  • In-body, sensor-shift image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 5 stops with any lens in use and compensates for camera movements that become especially noticeable when working with telephoto shots, macro imagery, and long exposures
  • For eye-level shooting, a high-resolution 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder is available and covers 100% of the image frame with a 1.08x magnification

All the camera that most users will ever need

I gave it a 5-star rating. I sometimes see reviewers comment that they gave only 4 star to something, cuz they think it's great but have a minor complaint or two. NOTHING IS PERFECT. But any device with only the SLIGHTEST shortcomings deserves 5-stars in this imperfect reality ! I think it's a bit bigger than it needs to be. Sometimes I hafta pull my eye [wearing eyeglasses] back just a bit from the eyepiece or the AF won't activate. Tripod socket is too far forward. It's very customizable but the button menu is not the best it could be [not like Panasonic]. Above are ALL my complaints ... all minor ones. Best features are: In-body IS, which works even with "smart adapters". With my Panasonic IBIS works with M43 lenses and also with manual lenses on "dumb adapters, but NOT with "smart adapters]. Kuh-ching for Olympus. AF is super fast and very customizable. Fully articulated monitor. Cable release fitting. Adjustable characterisitc curves. FOUR user memory presets. Lock-unlock toggle button for mode dial. There's many other good features but those above mean the most to me. The camera seems to be quite solidly built. Altho a lens feature rather than specific to the Pen-F, I very much enjoy the "MF Clutch" on certain Zuiko lenses. An other feature, too limited to be listed above in "best features" is the 50MP sensor shifting for still subjects and tripod [combined]. I could easily live without it, but for copying prints, transparencies, or documents 50MP is ... well ... 50MP ! #sweepstakes
