When I ordered this I thought it was real wood. To my surprise the frame is high quality metal and sturdy. The drawers are cubby boxes with handles. They are heavier made than the collapsible ones you see. They come with heavier liners for sturdiness and gliders attach to the frame for easy glide in and out. I bought mine for yarn and craft supplies. I actually like this storage for my craft better than heavy wood. I bought the second one for my son's room. He has winter hoodies and sweats in 2 of the bottom drawers and art supplies in others. He still has plenty of space for much more. I'm sure he will find use for the rest of his drawers. We both are very pleased with my purchase.
