Lite Brite My Little Pony Edition with 4 Reusable Templates, 150+ Colored Pegs and 4 Different Light Effects

Lite brite has certainly come a long way since i was a child. This lite brite has 4 different light settings color lights and blinking lights. Many different scene options. This was a fun little activity to do with my grandaughter. I reccomend this version a fun change.

This is not the Lite Brite of my day, which was larger, plugged in and used a light bulb to light it up. The new Lite Brite is much smaller and compact. The unit measures 9"x8"x1.5". Just the right size for little hands but big enough to create a large design. The new Lite Brite runs on 3 AA batteries so you can take it with you anywhere. It also has 4 light options that range from steady light to blinking. It's pretty neat. The My Little Pony version comes with 4 design templates. The templates are different these days as well where the holes are pre-punched so they can be used over and over again. There are new peg shapes as well. Some are round, square, and some use 2 pegs at a time. The template holes are color coded to match the peg colors so it is easier for kids to follow the design. A small box to house the pegs comes with the unit and it can be clipped to the side of the Lite Brite, which I thought was a great idea. I understand that you can purchase refill templates separately so you can add to your template collection. The unit is light weight and designed in cute, kid colors. While you can house the pegs in the little case that comes with the unit there is no where, aside from a little self closing plastic bag, to house the templates. With this new, smaller size it would have been nice to have a little bag or something to put the unit and all of the pieces in for easy storage or transport you but can use the box if it doesn't get torn apart. The my little pony templates are cute. The 4 templates are a rainbow, what looks like an ice cream cone, a castle and of course, a little pony. Overall, I think the new design is great. I tried it with my 3 year old granddaughter and my 5 year old grandson and they both loved it. So far we've only done the rainbow and the ice cream cone template but there were enough pegs for both templates. I would recommend this product to others.
