Bought these for fun, and they are absolutely as advertised. I wanted these for sports games/days (primarily Carolina Hurricanes) and am happy to find them without breaking the bank. I'll never know if they would hurt if I wear them all day, since that is not my intended use for them. Perfect for my intended purpose. I bought a half-size larger since I am a 9.5, but I also wear orthotics so it isn't unusual for me to go up a half-size.
