Efficient and well-designed fridge

Highly efficient, well thought-out and designed compression fridge. Easy to use digital programming features to customize internal temperature along with auto shutoff if voltage falls below a certain level. Draws roughly 40 watt-hours when in initial cool-down stage, but maintains an average of about 15 watt-hours once internal ambient temperature has stablized. We originally purchased an electric-only absorptive fridge, but quickly discovered that it sucked a huge amount of power while failing to cool down nearly enough. Though propane-enabled absorptive fridges are fine for RVs, this compression fridge is far superior for our purposes (with no on-board propane option).

Get it, get it now

I got a 95dz years ago for a camper van build and love it soo much that even though the van is long gone I still lug my Dometic around for outings all the time. Now I just started driving big rigs again and wanted a fridge for the truck. I immediately came back to Dometic because I'm soo happy with my previous purchase and even though I haven't had this one long yet it seems just as awesome. Solid build quality, low power consumption, and it works great. With this model I only have 2 complaints and they are both minor. 1) Setting the temperature is a little vague. There are several presets and even though the owners manual does describe how to select them and how they generally work it does not indicate what their set temps are. I have yet to stick a thermometer in the unit to get readings but the default option does seem to do the job just fine. 2) the wiring harness for assembly is just 2 bare wires. I understand that this is ideal in most situations but in my own use case I needed to make the fridge able to plug into a typical 12v automotive type receptical. It was a small matter to pick something up from autozone and adapt it to the fridge, but I would have rather that there had been an optional part offered from the manufacturer to do this rather than turning to modifying items of questionable quality. All in all this thing is running great, doing it's job well, and looking sleek all at the same time. Will definitely keep coming back.

van upgrade

purchased about a month ago and used for 3 trips now. the fridge works great! I have not tested the freezer area, instead have removed it for the extra fridge space. My standards are high and overall this has meet them. the good - efficient, cools pretty quickly and quiet when its running - everything you can hope for. spacious and much easier to access everything than my previous chest style arb fridge the bad - upon unboxing, the power cable was stuck in the black tar/glue for the copper tubing, no biggie. the metal on the door bins is sharp, a rolled edge would have been nice. the door on the crisper compartment does not stay in; if the pins on it were longer that would resolve my issue. there is a large clunk when the compressor turns off
