These hiking poles are very light weight, easy to extend/open, collapse, and store in carry-on luggage. Additionally, relatively speaking, the price for the hiking poles is extremely reasonable and represent good value.

Right out of the box, I was impressed with the quality of these poles. They are easy to set up and stronger than I expected. Easily adjustable, they should fit most people, and the cork handles with foam extension provide a comfortable grip for flat terrain, uphill and downhill climbs. The z-fold design makes it easy and convenient to pack or carry, and the included tips and baskets should help them adapt to various types of terrain (So far, I have only used the carbide tips with the snow/ice baskets). The wrist straps are nothing to write home about, and I'll probably look into adding some padding to them, but that's the only criticism. At 70 years old, I had never used trekking poles before, and I bought these hoping they would help with hip and back pain from walking. I just used them for three days on an ice fishing trip, and was pleasantly surprised at the relief they gave me. Up and down hills in the snow and walking across long stretches of slick ice. I had no problem maintaining my balance, even with a backpack, and my back and hip pain was significantly reduced. Walking with these does put a strain on arms and shoulders, but with regular use, I expect to get used to that very soon. They were relatively inexpensive compared to other brands - a very good value from what I can tell. Best thing is, they look a lot cooler than a cane or a walker!
