these are not dishwasher safe, they warped. also, the tops do not fasten to the bottom at all, which was something i expected for an item created to transport food. you could tie the top to the bottom with twine. there are tabs on the bottom for that. that said, they are not terribly flimsy. if you just want something to cover food for a little while and don't mind hand washing, go for it.
