The BEST Pizza Dough

I bought this mixer for one purpose: mixing pizza dough. I've owned at least half a dozen mixers I bought for that purpose, but this one clobbers them all. The Kitchen Aid has been relegated to other tasks. I honestly can't imagine a better value in a mixer for the serious home pizza maker. Five stars, would buy again.

Love the price ! Was a little hesitant about buying this machine, they don't give a very good description about it . The mixer is only one speed 5 liter bowl ! Not slow or fast (medium speed) I believe they say 193 speed but that's 193 revolutions per minute. I tried it for the first time making pizza and bread dough and it does an excellent job. No the bowl and the hook is not removable unless you want to unscrew the bolts . I've looked at the Famag and Sunmix spiral mixers but the price is ridiculous $1800-2000. It's quite heavy and too large for my counter top, cleaning takes a little time but can be done. It's a work horse and good for the money.

No frills machine. Good for the price.

For the price, this is a pretty decent spiral mixer. To reply to farmerdan, MANY spiral mixers have fixed dough hooks and dough breakers. There is a specific cleaning and sanitizing routine. Mine is sitting on a bench next to its MUCH larger brother (not the same brand), which doesn't tilt either. In a spiral mixer, weight isn't a bug, it's a feature. This is a bare-bones machine. One speed, no timers, nothing beyond the basics. It works well. Today a friend sent me a recipe for a rye bread. Ryes are noted to be tough to mix. I loaded the bowl up to near capacity, and it never missed a beat. It is ideal for the home bread baker that does higher volumes, or a pro who wants to test recipes without wasting 50 lbs of flour. It is a ONE TRICK PONY. It does not whip, grate, make cupcake batter, or freeze ice cream. There are no attachments. It mixes and kneads bread dough, and does a pretty good job of it.
