They both have their problems however. Maggie is a party girl at heart who's never met a man she couldn't sweet-talk into buying her a drink. She has serious self-esteem problems however. Rose is a successful lawyer who is having an affair with one of the firm's partners but quits her job after she catches the man in bed with Maggie. Rose starts work as a dog-walker and eventually becomes engaged to Simon Stein, someone she worked with at the law firm. Maggie meanwhile learns of a long lost grandmother, Ella Hirsch, who lives in Florida and moves there. She learns that Ella is anything but an easy mark and that she will have to earn her own way.
