Because it was Empire brass I thought the internal workings were brass and the outside was plastic but I come to find out it's all plastic, however most manufactured home faucet seem to be made this way maybe for and weight restrictions. Aside from this it's very nicely made and it's the second one I'm buying first one is still working fine after a year.
