This dress is very flattering on. I bought an XL and with shape wear, it's very cute. Without it, my rolls show. 🤣 I haven't washed it yet so I will update this when I do. You can dress it up or down. It is a very dark navy. I agree with the other reviewer who said that the double ruffle is a bit too much. If you don't like it, you can fairly easily remove it, as it is almost entirely sewn on top of the shoulder and armhole. Just use a seam ripper or small, sharp scissors to cut the threads. When you get to the armhole seam, you can carefully cut off the material, which will leave a tiny amount of the ruffle fabric showing. If you don't like this, you can open up the seam, snip the threads, remove the ruffle entirely, and sew the seam together by hand or with a sewing machine.
