As soon as I removed it from the box and cut the plastic surrounding the mattress it started to inflate. I had a twin size and it was a little heavy for me to move around. I am a 76 year old woman. If you have mobility issues you might need help. The mattress is so comfortable. It is firm enough and very soft. I am a side sleeper and it supports me very well. I recommend it.
