Life Extension's unfiltered, cold-pressed California Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes from olives hand-picked at the peak of ripeness and milled within hours of harvest. Our olive oil has a concentration of over 600 mg/kg of naturally occurring olive polyphenols.
Heart-healthy olive oil polyphenols
Olive oil is high in monounsaturated fatty acids (primarily oleic acid), which is less susceptible to oxidation than other types of fatty acids, and is an underlying reason for olive oil’s abundant health benefits.1 A study found that the intake of two tablespoons of olive oil daily improved markers of cardiovascular health.2
And potent antioxidant compounds called polyphenols contribute many of olive oil’s beneficial effects.3 Hydroxytyrosol, for instance, is a polyphenol found in olive oil that has been shown to promote cardiovascular health.4,5

I purchased this based on third party testing (Consumer Labs) of the amount of polyphenol in the product. It has a very high polyphenol content, which is what I am chasing when it comes to Extra Virgin Olive oils. Equally as important is having the oil unadulerated--this product is tested as extra virgin olive oil without any blend of cheaper oils mixed in. Love its potent flavor, which is an indicator of its very high polyphenol content. It is a great product!
