The top bed is too narrow for most cats except medium size to kittens. The botton bed is only for kittens. The pole in it takes up an already very small space. The ramp is a scratching post only . My older cat needs help getting up, and I mistakenly thought she could utilize the ramp, but it sits too straight, and the little shelf it connects to is too small to be step up help. This is perfect for kittens and small cats but not large. easy to put together, but the poles are very small, so not for heavy cats. I feel it should be placed against a wall for stability.
