Necessity is the mother of invention...

My purchase of this step has nothing to do with exercise or fitness, although they would be great for that. I bought two of these 6" steps, because they were just the right size to act as a pedestal for an appliance that I recently bought. I had previously bought two of the 4" steps/stackable aerobic platforms, one to put next to my tub, to make it easier for me to get in and out of the tub and one next to my bed, for the same reason. They are strong, non-slip, just what I needed and at a reasonable price.

Excellent aid for building quads

I use a similar step box in PT for strengthening quads after knee replacement surgery. I bought this aerobic platform to use for my home exercise program. It has helped considerably and my PT progress is well above the norm.
