While this item is not made out of solid wood (partially hardwood, partially veneer), it is incredibly sturdy. It took 2 people to get it in the house, which says alot about it. The whole thing was super easy to put together. Top is hardwood with veneer and overall the whole thing is beautiful. Would definitely recommend it and buy it again. The value was very good for the price.

I am always hesitant to buy furniture that needs assembling. I'm getting older so all of the lifting and time spent on the floor is a literal pain. I am happy to report that this piece is different. They've pre-assembled the base so that it simply unfolds. The directions are clear and easy. I put it together in less than an hour. ONE RECOMMENDATION: The box it comes in is very, very heavy. Too heavy for one person. I pushed it inside my door and unpacked the contents right there. I then carried each piece to my living room where the TV stand will live. This helped me manage the weight. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!
