Whether you need to charge just one NiMH or NiCd battery, or sixteen batteries, the Tenergy TN438 is an awesome battery charger. There are two charging banks, and each one charges eight batteries, with a bright blue LCD screen above each bank that shows the status of each individual battery and its current charge level. Each battery is represented by the number position in the charging bank and has a three level meter that indicates how full each battery is. As it charges the levels blink to indicate what stage it is in. For example if the battery is totally depleted the bottom indicator blinks until that portion is fully charged, then it stays solid and adds the middle portion which blinks until that portion is fully chargedand then goes solid, and finally the top portion blinks until the battery is totally charged. When the battery has finished charging it stops blinking and shows up solid in the LCD display. Since each battery has a position number you know exactly which battery is fully charged and can be removed for use. Like any good charger, the last portion of the LCD meter takes the longest. It takes about five hours to fully charge a AA battery and slightly less for AAA. I've been using two AA's in my Magic Mouse for over a month without the need for recharging yet. I used to use ordinary alkaline batteries in my mouse and they needed changing about every six to eight weeks. So far the Tenergy NMHi batteries seem to be working at least as good as the alkalines. As a quadcopter flyer I am very familiar with the Tenergy brand, they are excellent batteries, that are reliable and preferred when flying. Getting 16 batteries and a charger at this price is a bargain! While it's been too cold to fly quadcopters, the remote control units all take either AA or AAA batteries and the main reason I got the Tenergy TN438 with the batteries is cut on the cost of the batteries for the remotes. I usually take several quadcopters at once when flying, and each one has its own unit that needs batteries, usually 4 AA's at a time. I was usually swapping batteries in the field from one remote unit to another, this will alleviate that problem, I can now freshly charged batteries in each unit. This will save a lot of time and hassle. Plus, with the included car power cable I can charge the batteries enroute or onsite. The Tenergy TN438 is a super battery charger for AA or AAA batteries, either NiMH or NiCd. I highly recommend it!
