Toastmaster 7 Quart Oval Slow Cooker

When my old slow cooker finally broke down (after decades of use), I found that many of the new slow cookers operated at such high temperatures (even set on low) that the liquid in the pot would boil, steam and spittle out of the pot, leaving me with a very dry stew and a mess all over the counter. I had to return a number of slow cookers, before I happened to try this one. This cooker did not come to a boil.. even on the high setting. I checked the temperature of it with a well calibrated thermometer, after 5 1/2 hours on the high setting and the temperature was 188 degrees. Everything that I've cooked in it so far; has been great..
