Just What We Needed
My wife is having ankle fusion surgery and will be unable to put any weight on it for six weeks, so we thought that a transport chair would be handy to have. The problem we had is our bathroom doors are only 24 inches wide, with an opening of just a bit over 23 inches, so we needed a very narrow chair. This one, (the 17 inch model), works out very well - it goes through without any problem - especially when I remove the bathroom doors. It's not for very large people, my wife is 5'7" and weighs 150 lbs., and she describes it as "adequate." I have problems getting into it, but I'm 6'4" and weigh 215 lbs. We removed the seat belt because we didn't think we needed it, and also added a soft cushion for comfort. I was pleased that I could push it without having to bend over.
