Don't remain on the setting from time to time

I got 2 sets of 2, only 1 string stayed on the setting it had been on the previous time. I had them set on timers (and also tried them just plugged directly in an outlet). I bought these after reading the reviews-they seemed like they would stay on the same setting-I'd gotten lights from amazon and they didn't stay on either.
