Less than perfect as an UPS

It mostly does what it is marketed to do. As far as the claim that it works as an uninterruptible power supply I have a small gripe. I am an electrical design engineer and I was using this unit to power a piece of equipment that requires 240v in a place where only 120v was available. With everything powered up the unit worked reasonably well. When I experimented with interruptions to the input power. While losing power I saw a waveform the for the most part matched Oscal's claim that the backup battery would take over between 4 and 8ms. When input power was restored the 60 Hz sine wave out jumped up to being a 1,190 Hz sine wave for about 176ms before returning to the normal 60Hz. While many home appliances might not care that this happens it was enough of a discontinuity to cause the attached piece of equipment to crash and reboot itself. After I first witnessed the crash I rigged the units output with an oscilloscope so I could understand what was occurring to cause our piece of equipment to reboot.
