This device is required to correctly vent the stored gasoline vapor from the fuel tank / charcoal canister into the intake manifold. These stored fuel vapors must be completely burned during the normal combustion process & not vented into the atmosphere when the ECM tells the valve to open. If this valve is not operating correctly you will get a check engine light & set an EVAP CODE. This valve was received in the original MB bag and not made by some half baked aftermarket outfit.
