not like homemade but still yummy

this is a pretty good canned soup. No, it will not taste like made from scratch French onion soup. I used to make that all the time, but who has the time for it? Still, you can fry up some garlic, a few extra sweet onions, and some thyme and add it to this mix. Add a splash of cooking sherry to the onions while you are frying to deglaze the pot. then, added it to two cans of the soup. The onions in the canned soup will be softer than what you would get in homemade soup. Still, put a toasted English muffin on the top with some melted Swiss cheese grated on it, and pop it in the microwave. I suspect it will be a hit.

I had an extra piece of garlic/cheese bread left over from the night before. I had left it in the toaster oven. It was the perfect addition to the soup. I normally add Great Value cheese and garlic croutons and cover the top with some shredded cheese (I always have a bag on hand) Yummy
