When using wide mouth jars for storage, these lids are a lot more convenient than 2-piece canning lids. I'm using 64 qt jars to culture marine phytoplankton, which requires two 1/4" holes for an airline and vent. Metal canning lids, once drilled, would begin rusting quickly when exposed to the saltwater splatter. That's a non-issue with these plastic lids. I can't speak to their sealing capabilities, but they're easy on, easy off, and I like them.

Love, love, love these lids. They are great quality, easy to use and a great price. Great alternative to the lids and bands that come with canning jars. Of course they are not to be used for canning, but I love using them for storing things in the kitchen, especially my fresh pressed juices. The only complaint that I have is that they are not leak proof. Still would purchase again and again!

Great for storage (not for canning)

Since I live at altitude I can't do canning, but I use canning jars to store a lot of things. These lids are wonderful. They fit perfectly, are easier to manipulate than 2-part lids, and can go in the dishwasher with the jars. The price is very reasonable, too.
