In this work by Czechoslovakian artist Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). Winter is personified in a piece from his The Seasons series, 1900. An ethereal woman stand beneath a winter tree wrapped tight in a pale blue shawl that covers head and part of her face; a mysterious look in her eyes. She is clad in a flowing delicate pale yellow gown before an illuminated snowy winter forest scene completing a dreamlike background. Mucha's works frequently featured beautiful young women in flowing, vaguely Neocla ical-looking robes, often using pale pastel colors. The Mucha Style became known as Art Nouveau French for new art and was often imitated. Woven in Belgium Alphonse Mucha Backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging. 60% Cotton, 40% Polyester Blue
