Easy out of the box setup. Very quiet compared to old window units. I am purchasing another one I was so pleased with this one. Only wish it would ship to my local Wal-Mart for pickup instead of paying shipping was the only downside, but still worth it.

*4 stars — Great deal, big difference in the heat* For the price I figured I had nothing to lose, so I went ahead and got the 3-year Allstate too. Shipping was a little pricey, but all in all it's a really good deal. Planning on getting another one. Setup was pretty easy. Some of the instructions didn't make sense, but using Common Sense got it up and running. I wanted it for the kitchen where the west sun beats in and makes it hot. Huge difference already. Not sure how long it'll last since I just got it, but I'll update later if I can. Nice bonus: come winter I can uninstall it and store it in the garage. It didn't fit my horizontal sliding window perfectly, so I just used white duct tape for summer and it works fine. It's not loud. Right now it's shooting out cool there don't know how long that will last. Controls are easy to do Too funny — the Great Dane and the cats are already loving the cool tile under it.

It has been well worth the money Spent by keeping my living-room cool usually the west sun would blast in there and make it hot as blazes but now with the piece of cardboard that I usually put up and the new air conditioner it stays perfect in there away from the Arizona heat.
