Rich, smooth, balanced

This is my favorite coffee. Gevalia used to offer light roast and dark roast. I would blend them with Yuban coffee in order to create my own flavor blend. Since they no longer offered light or dark roast, I tried the Traditional Roast and found that it was nearly as good as my own blend. I would say that the flavor notes are fruity and nutty.

Great Coffee, Rising Price Forced Me Away!

Review: Gevalia Espresso Roast Dark Roast Ground Coffee has been my absolute favorite for years. I tried many other brands from Fairway, Whole Foods, and online, but nothing matched the smoothness and rich flavor of Gevalia. Unfortunately, the price has kept rising. I stayed loyal as long as I could, but with everything else going up, I finally had to switch to another brand that costs nearly half as much. It doesn’t compare in quality, but the cost difference was too much to ignore. I hope Gevalia reconsiders its pricing or offers loyalty programs — because if that happens, I’d happily return to my favorite coffee.

Best big brand coffee

This has been my main coffee brand for years. With rising prices, I switched to store brand last month. Wow, what a difference. Gevalia is worth the $2 extra, and in my opinion is superior to every other major brand (Starbucks, Peet's, etc.) I'll be sticking with it for another decade at least. I also use a French press, and Gevalia is one of the few brands that's ground fine enough for it.
