Check the aspect ratio

While waiting for this item to arrive (site-to-store), I had a bit of buyers' remorse when I looked over the "Thanks for your Walmart.com order" email and noticed the words (Full Frame). I had expected this recent series to have only been released in widescreen as presented on TV, and hadn't paid attention to the aspect ratio. But at the price, it wasn't that big of a deal, so I gave myself one of those "coulda had a V8" slaps to the forehead and resolved to pay closer attention to the listed specs in the future. So, a week goes by and I get the email saying, "Come on down, your order is ready" — well, words to that effect. So, I pop over to collect my DVD and lo and behold, it's the widescreen version I'd expected when I made my order. Walmart just has the wrong information listed for the title. IT'S WIDESCREEN! I won't bother to review "No Ordinary Family" - The Complete First Season. There are numerous reviews of this series online, and who cares what I think, anyway? Everybody's tastes are different. I bought it. That has to count for something. I will note that the 20 episodes are evenly distributed over four dual layer discs and packaged in a standard width (14mm) keep case sporting two swinging trays.

Great Show; DVD Release, not so much!

I enjoyed this series before it was canceled and I was really looking forward to the release on home video, specifically Blu-ray. Unfortunately they only released standard DVD and with minimal extras. They didn't even include subtitles, which I like as I can easily miss some of the softer spoken dialog. Walmart sold it for a great price, but ABC dropped the ball on this one. I hope another network picks it up and brings it back to the air and does a nicer with home video releases.
