Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Collection, Volume 1 (Hardcover) by Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird

This is a hardcover 319 (apx) page collection of reprinted TMNT original comic books. It is in black in white mostly and the images were slightly modified and resized to fit in this book. There are a few colorful pages of art included with this and bonus material included background development stories and interviews from the creators Eastman and Laird. Like most people in my generation I was first exposed to TMNT from the 1987 cartoon series. The original comic stories are darker, more graphic, and violent, so I would recommend this more for the older collector crowd. I'm not much of a comic collector but am a huge TMNT fan and bought it for nostalgia and perhaps when my son gets older he'll enjoy it even more so. I think the origin stories are great though and the way the pages are laid out make it visually exciting to read. I rated this 4 stars because even though I understand the original series was in black and white, I was hoping this was the re-print in color. I have seen the re-print in color on video reviews but the descriptions and reviews from stores do not mention it.
