The Range Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly locks the oven door of the appliance during the self-cleaning cycle. If the existing motor has failed, it won't properly lock the oven door allowing the appliance to enter self-cleaning mode. If the switch has failed, it won't be able to communicate to the oven that the door is securely locked. A failed part may also cause the door to remain locked, even after the self-cleaning cycle has completed.
