Deacon's Family Stitches in Time, Book 2, (Paperback)

There was so much to love in Stitches in Time, the second installment of the Deacon's Family series by Suzanne Woods Fisher. First of all, the ending. It made me want to jump, and shout, and celebrate! Know that this was a great book, from beginning to end. It takes place in Stoney Ridge, a fictional town in Lancaster County, PA. That place is a community that feels like home when I pick up one of Fisher's books. There are stories to remember and characters to regain an acquaintance with each time I read a Stoney Ridge book. There were some characters to meet for the first time, and others whose stories make me love them even more. They made me laugh with them, and appreciate kindness, and experience longing with them in a book that was comfortable and easy to read. Yet for all the nostalgia, this book does work as a stand-alone. As the story moved along, I found myself drawn to the good advice that the characters sought from their mentors. "I start every morning with a question-'Lord, what do you want me to do today?'" More than once throughout the book I was spiritually encouraged. From beginning to end, this was a great book, and I highly recommend it-even if Amish fiction isn't your thing. Stitches in Time is the second installment from Suzanne Woods Fisher's series, The Deacon's Family. I enjoyed the first book, Mending Fences, and enjoyed this one so much more. Even though it is part of a series. I feel as though the books can be read as a stand alone. Though, it was fun catching up with the previous main characters. Stitches in Time tells the story that is full of faith and inspiration. I was hooked from the start to finish. I read the whole book in just one sitting. I loved getting to know the characters, especially Sam and Mollie. I loved how Ms Fisher incorporated some real life issues that readers can relate to. I am giving Stitches in Time a well deserved five plus stars. I look forward to see what happens next in The Deacon's Family series in book three, Two Steps Forward. I highly recommend this one for readers who enjoy clean and heartwarming Amish stories. I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
