- THE FLASH FREEZING DIFFERENCE. Flash freezing uses extremely cold temperatures to rapidly freeze foods. The process is much faster than traditional freezing and locks in freshness, taste, and quality by minimizing ice crystal formation. (Fast forward through the cellular-level science.) Thanks to the smaller ice crystals, the food — when thawed — maintains its structure, moisture content, and texture.
- HOW TO PREPARE: Oven (Sear and Slow Roast): Remove Tomahawk from vacuum packaging. Pat dry and generously season both sides of steak. Allow steak to set at room temperature for 1 hour. Wrap entire exposed bone in foil. Pre-heat oven to 250°F. Heat 1 tbsp. oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. When oil is hot, add steak to the pan and sear on both sides until well browned or 2-3 minutes per side. Place the steak on an elevated rack in a roasting pan. Roast for approximately 45 minutes for rare (120-130°F), 45-50 minutes for medium rare (130-140°F) and 50-55 minutes for medium (140-150°F). Allow 10-15 minutes resting time before serving. Charcoal Grill: Place the Tomahawk on the grill over indirect heat, away from the lit coals, with the bone side of the steaks facing the heat. Close the lid and position the air holes directly over the steaks.

Purchase price for each steak was listed as $44.00 each okay but I bought these fo holiday dinner,ordered 2. Placed order on the 9 of December. We decided to do a crab boil instead, tried to cancel order managed to cancel everything but steaks. The steak total came out to $239.44! I was shocked I kept trying to cancel steaks and the system said it was in the prose of being shipped. This was on the 11 Dec. I got a tracking notice on my computer those 2 steaks were in Warwick RI on the 15 Dec and were shipped that day at 2:46pm.. Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday I got notices that delivery would arrive next day by 7:00pm. Did not happen. I've Bern scammed.
Hello Diana! You did not eat the steaks so we are disappointed in the product review. You are largely commenting on your ordering experience with Walmart, not the delicious, American steaks. Walmart controls the order process, delivery messages, and refund process. We don't believe this review is factual. We are an American owned small business and currently rated a Top Seller on Walmart. We source and ship great food. We received the order from Walmart on 12/15 and not on 12/9 or 12/11. The product was committed to ship by 12/15 and be delivered by 12/18. UPS picked up the package in Bloomfield, CT at 6:38 PM on the 15th - same day as ordered. The package was delivered to the address provided by the customer at 1:48 PM on December 18, as committed and with photo proof. The customer had a valid UPS tracking number. We received no cancelation request for this order. There is one customer message regarding this order - on 12/17 - to which we responded within 21 minutes. The question and response regarded delivery date, not cancellation. There was no change in price from what was ordered - Walmart controls the entire order and payment process. These are near prime grade 2 lb steaks cut for impressive presentation at the table. Our cost from the American family-owned ranch is more than $44/steak. The customer initiated the product return process on 12/19, the day following delivery of the product. We issued a full refund immediately upon receiving the return from the customer on Monday 12/22. Walmart controls the timing of any refund to customers. All of this occurred before the customer review was posted by Walmart. We appreciate the customer changed their mind. Based on the facts we believe we performed exactly as we committed - we shipped the product on time, we shipped the product ordered, we responded promptly to the one message about the order, the product arrived frozen and on time, we paid for the return and we issued a full refund the same day as the return was received. And we threw away the returned steaks to guarantee food safety. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Hope the crab boil was excellent and sorry you did not get to taste the steaks. Today Gourmet
