It works, but it's not fast.
Once I plugged in the Novatel 760 USB modem, logged into the router from the computer and modified some settings to match my situation, and then accessed the network with the ISP's proprietary software (VZAccess), it connected and provided a wireless network which was easily accessed over most of the house. However, the connection speed using the wireless router is noticeably slower than when using the 3G (Verizon) USB modem connected directly to the computer. If you want to do more than check your email and check Facebook, I would recommend a faster router.
