After his father has a stroke, an aspiring gourmet chef must put his dreams of going to Paris on hold to help his family's struggling Indian restaurant. Great characters emerge in this comedy/ drama as the chef must take over the kitchen in a New York Burb and learn to cook Indian food with the help of a sous chef that can't speak English and a former Mumbai cook who is a philosopher/cab driver. Coping with an inept staff and his traditional parents, the Chef must turn a profit if the restaurant is to survive.
