The shower shirt is a post-surgical, water-resistant, garment designed to offer post surgery support. This comfortble shirt allows for bathing and good hygiene after surgery and during dialysis. The shirt is designed to prevent post-surgical mastectomy drain sites, dialysis catheters and medical-ports from coming into contact with water while showering. The fundamental purpose of the product is to reduce the risk of infection while permitting chest surgery patients to bathe with normalcy. The clinical purpose of this product is to reduce post-surgical infections. Many surgical procedures involve the placement of drains, tubes, ports and catheters which penetrate the skin. This medical paraphernalia can act as a portal for bacteria to enter wound sites.
