It was a pain in the butt to build. The instruction are awful. I would know because I'd perfer to build ikea furniture than this. Definitely easier with two people. The wood is not cut right. Some were shorter than others. Some of the wood cracked when screwing them in with the wood screws. The wooden dowels to hold the bottom flower box do not stay in place we had to improvise by putting something in to keep them in place. It's ok. But I am scared this is not going to hold up. I agree with the other reviews that the directions aren't the easiest to follow (not even half of the pieces were labeled). Once I was able to identify all pieces, I was able to put it together without any issues. There does appear to be a design flaw with the bottom of the planter. The rods shift very easily and fall out of place. They're very difficult to get realigned once soiled and after one day there is already a split in the base of the planter box. Not sure how long it will hold up unfortunately but they do look nice once together.
