I'm not using these for canning but for my water soluble artist paints. I like them because they are just the right size. The wide mouth makes it easy to use with any size brush and easy to clean the jar when needed. In addition, i bought the wide mouth plastic lids which are easier to use as they are in one piece and don't rust from the water of the paints. Also, i can stack them in a plastic carrier (usually used to store household cleaning products) 3 deep which makes it easy to take my paint set out to different locations.
