They aren't dress boots but I didn't order dress boots. They seem comfortable, durable and like they will be great in deeper water too. So many boots are barely ankle high so won't keep you dry in puddles more than 4 or 5 inches max. These definitely will. I live in Oregon and we get quite a bit of rain in the fall and winter with lots of puddles several inches deep so I wanted to keep my feet dry. Especially if I'm working or moving rhings outside. These will definitely keep me dry!
