Overtone Vivid Violet Daily Depositing Conditioner worked well on my 70% gray, 30% brown. I have medium thickness hair and should have used more product for greater coverage, and applied in sections. That said, the color came out a beautiful shade of purple. I applied the conditioner to dry hair, let it sit for an hour and half and used a blow dry on warm to help set it. Next time, I will leave it on even longer and I have read different reviews saying people wrapped their hair in a dark T-shirt or shower cap and sleep with it on overnight. Maybe my hair is porous bc my gray hair took up the color very well and my brown hair came out purple too, just less vivid. After 3 days and first shampoo, my hair is still purple, tho faded a little. Got some surprised looks from older people but multiple compliments from younger people. Suggest laying down a black/dark towel in your sink bc this will stain your sink or bathtub or painted walls. Also be careful around any light-colored bathroom tile and wear gloves. Enjoy!
