i definitely recommend the jumbo size for any CATS older than 9 months. the large size (which i also own) is mainly for kittens only. although your medium sized older cats may still fit inside of it, larger cats will have a hard time enjoying it. i have two male adults. My tabby is a large bread and weighs about 12.5 lbs and my siamese is only 10.5 lbs but he is very tall (long legs) so he struggles with the large size but he loves playing with the jumbo.
