In the mid-19th century, during the last samurai war, Japan is split after the fall of the Shoguns. The Boshin War is the nation’s last civil war and one of the fiercest in Japanese history. In an effort to stop the advancing army, 11 imprisoned criminals are ordered to defend a mountain pass fortress. Dubbed the “11 Rebels”, the motley suicide squad unites to undertake the desperate defense with the promise of freedom, forgiveness and redemption for their past crimes, but risk certain death amidst the fierce battle, hail of bullets and slashing swords.
