You get exactly what you see.

It's one year of Gold, 400 points, chat pad and headset. I never used the headset so I know nothing about its quality. The chat pad is wonderful for entering the 25 character codes for the points and Gold membership. I have a Rock Candy controller as a backup and the chat pad WILL NOT hook up to that controller. I don't care for the Rock Candy controller for many reasons (but that is a tail for a different review). It took a while for me to get the chat pad to work. You have to get all of the connection points properly lined up and then press firmly to get everything to seat correctly. When the nubs on the left and right (see picture) have clicked into the screw holes on the controller, you're ready to go.

must-have for beginners

I'll be honest; I put in a serious effort to buy this as cheaply as possible, and walmart.com won hands down. Even with sites that sell a 12 month gold membership for $40, I still would have paid $20 more to buy the other items separately. Its that good of a deal. And the other items are things you'll definitely use, especially if you play over xbox live. Not one part of this kit is collecting dust in my home. I used site-to-store for shipping and was equally pleased. My item arrived a week earlier than estimated and in immaculate condition. I have nothing negative to say!

Great Deal!

I got this for my son for his bithday. It was even cheaper than just the XBOX live for 12months!! He was very happy to have the chat pad, new headset, and even the 400pts card. Highly recommend!!
