I really think this is the best pre-cooked rice out there. Pout rice is convenient, but the texture is usually not that great. And sometimes they have a little bit of a offputting chemical taste. This Veetee rice does not suffer from that. The texture is the same soft, pillowy, and sticky texture that you get in a good Thai restaurant. The package holds a little more than the standard pouch, and you can reuse the bowl for some things if you want. I do a lot of art, so I keep a stash of them for holding paints and other stuff during a session. Yes, it certainly more economical and better to cook your own rice, especially if you have a rice cooker, but sometimes you just want something really quick. Especially if you're camping or using a hotel microwave or something. I travel a lot, and if I'm doing it via car, I have a few of these and some pouches of the Tasty Bite Indian meals. I heat them both up in the hotel microwave, serve them together (I carry some cutlery and plastic bowls too) and that's a great dinner after a long day on the road.
