2015 release Rey Pila is a Mexican rock band formed in Mexico City in 2009. The band consists of Diego Solórzano (Los Dynamite), Andrés Velasco, Rodrigo Blanco and Miguel Hernández though it started as Solórzano's solo project. Their music caught Julian 'The Strokes' Casablancas' attention in NYC who signed them to his Cult Records label. The band toured with Interpol fall '14 and The Rentals in 2015. For fans of Roxy Music, INXS, Twin Shadow, Simple Minds, Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks, Cold Cave, and Dan Deacon. The band has appeared twice on Last Call With Carson Daly and are one of the few Mexican bands making waves in the U.S. indie rock scene.
